Mike Tomlin opened his Tuesday press conference addressing the 24 penalties in the Steelers-Bucs game (24 combined, 13 on the Steelers) and expressed concern about the game's entertainment value. "I'm an appreciator of the game, somebody that's in this ecosystem that understands the entertainment of the fan makes it all go," Tomlin said. "I just say it from that perspective -- not as a member of the (competition) committee or anybody in a title position in any form or fashion, just somebody who loves football. That probably wasn't a fun game to watch."

Mike Tomlin made clear after the win over the Bucs: Chris Boswell is "our kicker," and defense will continue to rotate cornerbacks opposite Joe Haden until someone (Artie Burns, Coty Sensabaugh, Cam Sutton) emerges as "solid."

The Steelers still have Ben Roethlisberger's arm and the ability to apply pressure to quarterbacks on defense. That's what got them out of Tampa with a win despite a barrage of mental mistakes and penalties that nearly cost them. Pittsburgh has a way of quelling the drama at the right time. And with an erratic defense, Roethlisberger is putting the Steelers on his back right now.
