LaMarre's single lifts Twins over Indians 2-1 in 16 innings

Eddie Rosario scored the winning run in his homeland in the bottom of the 16th inning, coming around on Ryan LaMarre's single to lift the Minnesota Twins over the Cleveland Indians 2-1 on Wednesday night to split their two-game series in Puerto Rico.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Great win for the Twins to take the second game in Puerto Rico with a 2-1 victory in 16 innings as Ryan LaMarre drove in Eddie Rosario with the walk-off base hit. Puerto Rico native Jose Berrios threw seven scoreless innings for the Twins, while the Indians can only kick themselves as they failed to get down three sacrifice bunt attempts and Jason Kipnis booted what should have been a double play in the 16th inning.

Here's the official statement from the Puerto Rico Series Director of Operations John Blakeman on the general power outage in Puerto Rico and whether it would affect the Indians-Twins game tonight, scheduled for 7:00pm ET on ESPN: "This has not taken us by surprise. We are fully prepared. Every area of Hiram Bithorn Stadium can run on generators that have a capacity to run for 48 hours. The main building runs on two generators, one of 400 kilowatts and another one of 200 for a total of 600 kilowatts. Each light tower operates with an independent generator of 200 kilowatts. The game will not be affected at all."
