It took 16 innings and 5 hours and 31 minutes, but the Rays hold on to beat the Marlins 9-6 in one of craziest games of the year. Kevin Cash's attempt to close out a five-run lead with backup catcher Jesus Sucre nearly backfires as the tying got to the plate, but Jose Alvarado finally closed it out.
