2018 Schedule
6-1, 2nd in SEC - West

The Pac-12 has just a 1 in 20 shot at putting a team in the playoff. Meanwhile, the SEC is still the most likely conference to get two teams in, but that number has dropped quite a bit over last few weeks.

The 10 teams most likely to reach the playoff, according to ESPN's Playoff Predictor. Georgia (27%) is still alive after its loss to LSU. For the Tigers it was not only the win but the way they won -- handily -- that put them on the board.

Ohio St. up to No. 2 in poll, LSU jumps to No. 5

The AP poll has a new look behind No. 1 Alabama, with Ohio State reaching No. 2, LSU jumping back to No. 5 and Michigan moving into the top 10 for the first time this season.

Strength of Record top 10: strictly a measure a accomplishment this season. Achieving a 6-1 record with LSU's schedule was more difficult than going undefeated thus far with Clemson or Alabama's schedule.

No team's playoff position improved in Week 7 more than Michigan. The Wolverines are now the sixth most likely team to reach the playoff, narrowly ahead of Oklahoma.

Before tonight LSU had hosted AP Top 2 teams 14 times and won only twice. They defeated No.2 Ole Miss in 1961 and No. 1 Florida in 1997. Now you can add No. 2 Georgia in 2018 to that short list.

LSU knocks off No. 2 Georgia for signature win

Joe Burrow passed for 200 yards and had two short touchdown runs, LSU's defense staggered Georgia's normally prolific offense, and the 13th-ranked Tigers beat the No. 2 Bulldogs 36-16 on Saturday to give coach Ed Orgeron a signature victory.

As we interviewed Ed Orgeron for SportsCenter, LSU fans stormed the field around us, chanting "We want Bama!" After our interview wrapped, Coach O shouted back "Let's worry about Mississippi State first!"

Today LSU All-American and Heisman runner-up Jerry Stovall will become only the third Tiger to have his number retired. The others are Heisman winner Billy Cannon and CFB Hall of Famer Tommy Casanova.

Just chatted with Kirby Smart at the UGA hotel in Baton Rouge. Not surprisingly, he's locked in. But he's also pumped for the Death Valley environment. "Man, that's why you want to play and coach college football, to have experiences like a big time Georgia-LSU game."

Florida's defense has come up huge the last two weeks, first against Mississippi State and now against LSU. The Gators had three sacks, nine tackles for loss and two turnovers -- including a pick-6 from Brad Stewart to seal the game. Florida now has 16 takeaways on the season.

LSU started to wear Florida down, taking the lead on a Nick Brossette run. But the Gators answered thanks to a bit of trickery -- tight end Lukas Krull, a junior college transfer who played baseball at Jefferson College, threw a pass to Feleipe Franks to set up the go-ahead score. Before this season, Krull last played football in high school in 2015.
