Bettor ranks: College football's top 25

It's Alabama and everyone else right now in college football. Reinhold Matay/USA TODAY Sports

Each week I will get the power ratings from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, ESPN's Will Harris and Bruce Marshall of the Gold Sheet, then combine them with my power ratings to give you the consensus Vegas power ratings.

These ratings are less about a team's record and more about the overall talent each team possesses, reflecting which team would be favored if meeting at a neutral site.

Here are the top-25 bettor power rankings.

Last updated: Oct. 8

Week 7 notes: Inside the top 10 of the rankings, there are now three distinct groups.

Alabama would still be at least a nine-point favorite over any team on a neutral field. The next group consists of Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State, who are separated by just 0.2 points in the ratings. There is almost a five-point drop off to the third group, which consists of Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Michigan, and Washington. Those four teams are separated by just 0.6 points.

Michigan State and Boise State took the most significant drops this week after both lost at home as favorites. They fell 12 and 11 spots, respectively, and are both out of the top 25.
