Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski has missed an extra point and a 42-yard field-goal attempt, with both kicks fading wide to the right. His missed 42-yard field goal attempt in the third quarter would have given the Patriots a nine-point lead and some much-needed cushion. Gostkowski entered the day 22-of-26 on field goals and 37-of-37 on extra points.

Patriots 27, Dolphins 21 (halftime): Tom Brady is throwing some lasers, the Patriots blocked two punts, and the defense had major struggles against the run early before settling down late. It was a wild half in which the Patriots/Brady left 3 points on the field at the end of the second quarter by taking a sack with no timeouts left. That was an uncharacteristic mistake by Brady.

Here is a statistic one wouldn't have expected entering the 14th week of the regular season: Rob Gronkowski scored his first red-zone TD of the season. Tom Brady entered Sunday's game against the Dolphins 0-for-5 targeting Gronkowski in the red zone.

Brandon Bolden just scored his first rushing TD since Week 13 of 2014 with Pats. He entered this game with 1 rush for 10 yards before just scoring on 54-yard TD. The ST ace was signed by the Dolphins on Sept. 4 after Patriots released him in final cuts.

The Patriots signed veteran LBs Albert McClellan (Nov. 6) and Ramon Humber (Nov. 14) to improve their special-teams units and that paid off Sunday when McClellan blocked a first-quarter punt that Humber recovered. The Patriots, who join the Rams as the only team this season to block two punts, turned it into a touchdown.

Patriots FB James Develin entered this year with 1 career rushing touchdown in 65 regular-season games, and after opening the scoring with a 2-yard TD against Miami on Sunday, he now has four rushing touchdowns this season.

The first two players on the field? Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, of course. Lots of love between the two close friends.

The Patriots have downgraded No. 2 TE Dwayne Allen (knee) to out. They will miss his blocking prowess for a third straight game. Rob Gronkowski and Jacob Hollister are top TEs, with FB James Develin also a big part of the mix. OT LaAdrian Waddle has also been used as a blocking TE in recent weeks.

Bobby Portis and Kris Dunn will not play for the Bulls tonight against the Celtics. Boylen said he expects them back "soon, any day."
